I know what you are thinking...’WHAT?! I don’t believe that!’
Let me explain:
Firstly let’s look at the traditional definition of a soul mate. A soul mate is a person that you feel a very deep and strong connection with emotionally, physically and spiritually. This definition however, and popular belief, usually implies that there is only one such person in the whole universe that you will find this deep compatibility with and that is somehow meant only for you.
Now let me tell you what I believe, if you are still interested in reading on ;-)
I believe that
we are all each others soul mates! Yeah I said it. You reading this, you are my soul mate and I am yours! You are a part of my soul family. Once we were all together in such great harmony and love so connected that we were ONE. Then we decided to have some fun and mix it up a bit and decided to come here onto this physical plane. We disbursed into all directions and the task was/is to find each other again.
Our egos have carefully comprised illusions for us to make it a bit more of a challenge for us. All throughout history and even now we see each other as separate, male and female, you and me. It is all part of a great plan to create duality. We possess both feminine and masculine energies within and by incarnating as a man or a woman we are trying to balance these energies again. We set up elaborate challenges, trials and obstacles on our way in order for us to remember. Some may call the successful completion of this process enlightenment.
But let’s get back to the ‘finding our other half’, which is an expression I was never very comfortable with. Even Plato way back then contemplated the soul mate relationship in his Symposium, where he has Aristophanes present a story about soul mates. Aristophanes states that humans originally had four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces, but Zeus feared their power and split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half to complete them.
I say: ‘What a bunch of bologna!’ with the utmost respect for Plato, of course!! ;-)
We do not have to look for another part to complete us, because we already are complete and perfect. We do not have to search for the 'other part of our angel wing' (I know you all have read this quote at some point on Facebook) because we already have a complete set! That all implies that we are somehow lacking or incomplete and need to find someone else’s love to fill that void. Again this is just a big illusion our egos have comprised in order for us to realize, through trials and errors, that we have been complete all along and do not need to look outside of ourselves in order to be who we really are, but rather to look within. In addition to that, by embarking on this quest of finding your‘other half’, you will give away your own personal powers and place them into the hands of somebody else (that can be a lover, god etc.) to help you feel whole and loved again. Understand that nobody else will ever be able to make you 100% happy, loved, satisfied and feel at peace if you are not 100% happy, satisfied and at peace with yourself.
This reminds me of something the angels told me a while ago, which I believe to be the secret code that can unlock all of life’s mysteries and wonders, the code that can unlock the doors for all of us to find our true divine selves, the code that will lead us to heaven on earth. Would you like to know that code? Well I guess I can tell you. ;-) Here it is:
“Know yourself and you will know the world.
Heal yourself and you will heal the world.
Love yourself and you will love the world.”
Simple as that, but think about it! So stop searching you are already there! You are your own soul mate, the person sitting next to you, your brother, your sister, your neighbor they all are your soul mates! Be kind and loving to one another and treat each other with respect because they way you treat another (your soul mate) is the way that you treat yourself!
