Fear of Change
The lesson of change is something that has been coming up over and over again. Just the other day in my meditation group, a client asked how to deal with all of the changes. Things have been changing so fast and so quickly for us lately. How do you not loose your center and get scared? As my business is going through changes I am being reminded of the positive new possibilities that change can bring us and how empowering the acceptance of it can be. That is why the subject of change and how to deal with it will be one of the big chapters in my upcoming book. Let’s face it the only constant in the universe is the fact that there will always be change. So you might as well get used to it. This is ...
... the very nature of the universe, mother earth and every living thing on it. Our bodies are a great reflection of that immutable law. Our bodies are constantly changing; cells dying, regenerating; energy is produced, absorbed and transformed. To resist change is basically to resist our very nature. That’s when imbalances occur not only in the physical body but also in our lives. Things we do not have the courage to change will over time become more frustrating. To the point where things get so bad we have no other choice but to change. What makes us resist change so much? I think it’s because we get stuck in the past. If you resist change you are stuck in the past! Maybe you hold on to ideals that were true in the past but have no place in the future. Truth be told we tend to paint the pictures of the past in prettier colors and romanticize them, but they rarely depict the truth. Are you afraid that the future will never be as good as the past was? How do you know? It may even turn out better. In any case the world is rapidly changing and we have to adjust. Not everything is in your control. You need to realize that change ultimately is inevitable. Yet remember you always have a choice no matter what situation you find yourself in. Empower yourself and take charge of your own life and happiness. Change is a natural part of that process. Use it to your advantage.
